What Happens When You Add Something to Logbook?
Last Updated:
When you mark an item as complete, what happens next depends on the list type it belongs to.
Collection Lists
The item is added to the Logbook and stays in the list. This is ideal for curated lists you revisit — like a “Scary Movies” list you pull up every Halloween.
Todo Lists
The item is added to the Logbook and moves to the Completed section at the bottom of the list. This keeps your list focused on what’s left to do — like a “Movies to Watch” backlog where finished items get out of the way.
What’s happening to the data under the hood?
When you mark an item as complete, Sofa flags the item as being in the Logbook — no copy is created. The item stays in your list and simultaneously appears in the Logbook. All of its metadata, Sticky Notes, and Ingredient values are preserved because it’s the same item.
Collection Lists
- The item is flagged as complete and appears in the Logbook.
- The item remains visible in your list, exactly where it was.
Todo Lists
- The item is flagged as complete and appears in the Logbook.
- The item moves to the Completed section at the bottom of the list. You can view completed items by tapping “Show Completed”.
Watch Again / Read Again / Play Again
Want to revisit something you’ve already completed? Use the “Watch Again” (or “Read Again,” “Play Again”) action on a completed item. This creates a fresh entry with its own completion date and notes, while preserving the original logbook record. Your Logbook will show the full history — for example, “Inception — October 2025” and “Inception — April 2026” as separate entries.
