Home Screen Widgets

Sofa offers a variety of home screen widgets so you can see your lists, progress, podcast queue, and upcoming events at a glance. All widgets support small, medium, and large sizes, and some support extra large on iPad.
List Widget
Displays items from any of your lists directly on your home screen. Tap to configure which list to show.
- Small — 3 items
- Medium — 4 items
- Large — 12 items
- Extra Large (iPad) — All items
Tap any item on the widget to open it in Sofa.
Pinned Items Widget
Shows your pinned items. If you’ve pinned books, movies, or shows you want to keep top of mind, they’ll appear here.
- Available in small, medium, large, and extra large sizes
- Also available as a lock screen widget (circular and rectangular)
Enjoying Widget
Shows all items you’re currently tracking with Progress Tracking, sorted by recent activity.
- Small — Up to 3 items with progress indicators
- Medium / Large — Cover art, episode thumbnails, and more detail
You can configure this widget to show all media types or filter to a specific type (TV shows only, books only, etc.).
Single Enjoying Widget
Puts one tracked item front and center with a full-bleed cover image and a progress ring in the corner.
- Shows item title and progress summary over a gradient
- Caught-up TV shows display a “Caught Up” badge
- New episodes trigger a sparkle badge with a count (e.g., “+3 new episodes”)
- Available in small, medium, and large sizes
Up Next Widget
Displays your podcast episode queue from the Player. See what’s coming up next without opening the app.
- Shows episode title, podcast name, and duration
- Available in small, medium, and large sizes
Event Widget
Shows your upcoming Planner events with countdowns, so you always know what’s on the horizon.
- Displays event title, emoji icon, and countdown
- Available in small, medium, and large sizes
Single Event Widget
A countdown widget focused on one specific event. Choose which event to feature and see a live countdown on your home screen.
- Countdown updates automatically (“3 days”, “Tomorrow”, “Today”, “Now”)
- Available in small and medium sizes
Progress Indicators
Widgets automatically adapt their progress display based on the type of content:
- TV shows and books — Progress ring with percentage
- Games and music with journal/quick log — Count badge with icon
- Caught-up shows — “Caught Up” badge
- Shows with new content — Sparkle badge with episode count
Deep Linking
Tap any item on a widget to jump straight into Sofa. List items open to their detail view, tracked items open to their progress view, podcast episodes open to the player, and events open to their event detail.
